VeraStone Care and Maintenance Instructions:
VeraStone is made with marble and high performance, stain resistant polymers, so it is very easy to maintain. Because the durable surface of VeraStone has low liquid absorption, it has the beauty of natural stone without their worries. VeraStone is more resistant to chemicals, scratches, and stains than natural marble. It is advisable to seal VeraStone once a year to enhance its resistance to stains and improve its luster. With routine care, VeraStone will maintain its luster and beauty for years to come.
Regular Cleaning:
To clean VeraStone, a damp cloth or paper towel is usually sufficient. To clean up spots, a little liquid detergent can help. As with any countertop, it is recommended to clean up spills as soon as possible. However, VeraStone can withstand exposure to cosmetics and chemicals generally used in the bathroom without permanently staining like ordinary stone.
Cleaning stubborn or Dried Spills:
Recommended cleaning products include 409, Lysol, and Greased Lightning. For extremely stubborn spills, soap or detergent may be used without damaging the countertop. Be sure to remove any hazy residue that will diminish the shine and beauty of the countertop.
Note: Always follow the manufacturer's instructions and exercise proper care when handling and storing any cleaning products.
Spot Removal:
For routine spot removal, soak a pad of paper towels in water and common cleaner. Apply to the spot and let soak for two to five minutes. Remove the residue with a clean towel and cleanser. Rinse thoroughly.
For heavier or stubborn spots (nail polish, paint, etc.), first scrape away the excess with a wood or plastic scrapper and clean the area with one of the recommended cleansers- Formula 409, Lysol or Greased Lightening - and a cloth pad. Any residue from the spot and any marks should both quickly disappear.
Polishing / Sealing:
Because VeraStone has low liquid absorption, it is not necessary to use sealant or waxes routinely as with ordinary stone. VeraStone will keep it's lustrous gloss and ultra-smooth surface with a light periodically applied sealer. VII recommends to seal your top once a year. The recommended sealing may be applied by the owner using the marble sealers available in the market. Follow the sealer manufacturer instructions.
No Surface is Indestructible:
As with any surface, VeraStone can be damaged by exposure to acid chemicals and some solvents. Do not use products containing trichlorethane or methylene chloride, such as paint removers or furniture strippers. Avoid chemicals containing high acidity (low PH levels) and organic acids. In the event of accidental exposure to any of these damaging products, thoroughly rinse with water as soon as possible.
